Vision:
To Foster Healing and Empowerment
Mission Statement:
Purpose Therapy aims to provide culturally sensitive therapeutic services in a safe space, encouraging vulnerability, exploration and open dialogue. We believe in the power of healing and the ability to help people regain their strength in the areas most important to them. Through transparency and openness about our deepest struggles, attending to our emotional needs invites self love, deeper intimacy with loved ones and greater connections are fostered.
Culture:
Commitment – We are committed to the personal growth of others.
Authenticity – We believe that the courage to show authenticity creates connection.
Integrity – We value honesty and transparency which reinforces ethical and legal standards.
Collaboration – We encourage the process of sharing experiences, thoughts and truths to promote healing over time.
Intentionally – We stand on the notion that living a life of purpose allows us to show up as our best selves.
Creativity – We invite creative expression in and out of the therapy room for ourselves and our clients.
Quality – We are dedicated to providing the best quality of care for our clients and those we encounter.
Thank you for taking the time out to learn more about me. While credentials and degrees are important, I think it’s necessary for potential clients to know that my role as a therapist is not just a career, but a calling! The zest I have for the field developed through significant life struggles and I have to admit that I am no stranger to my own experiences of heartache, grief and rediscovery of self. This helps me to relate to people and the everyday challenges we face.
My tribe and I often say, “therapy is life”, because the power of unpacking our truths is a process that goes unmatched. Additionally, normalizing therapy amongst people of color and communities of Christian faith is a passion of mine and an area that I continue to explore and speak on as opportunities arise.
I’m a daughter, a friend, a servant, a child of God and someone most would consider a loyal confidant. I’m always open to trying something new at least “once”. My favorite pastimes are spent traveling, meeting people, finding a show or podcast to binge on and frequenting different restaurants (definitely a foodie at heart, lol). You may also catch me presenting at or attending a conference, workshop or seminar — I’m a bit of a personal development enthusiast as well.
